Every once in a while, I try to work with scratch board. It forces me to adjust my approach to light. Whereas I traditionally color in the shadows, I have to switch and turn my focus to the light. It can be a bit rough in the beginning, but it usually ends up being a good exercise for me. This time around I used an image of Gimli from LotR as my experiment.
